Yango Track

Fired up the KLunkeR for a follow up dirt ride.

Started off entering the Watagan Forest at Dooralong and continued to an exit along Watagan Creek Road at Laguna.

Remembered that it was rumoured to be possible to get to Wollombi via Yango Creek road and headed off to try.

Private property and gates turned me around to continue on the Boree Track, then on to Yango Track before exiting along Howes Trail Road to the Putty Road.

It had been a VERY challenging and long ride for both me and the KLunkeR and I was VERY happy to find the asphalt again.

Had a message from Lucky to meet him at Jerries where he would be waiting with his recently acquired KLunkeR for a ride home.

Arrived at Jerries to find that my number plate/light had fatigued to the point where it was gone ……..

I then laughed at Lucky’s KLunkeR that was also missing THAT bolt.

Katoomba 2

Lucky, Mohawk, DD and Nige headed off to Katoomba via the Putty and Bells Line.

DD nearly didn’t make it into Macca’s carpark as he went sailing past before chucking a U-turn in the middle of traffic.

He arrived to find that he had forgotten to replace the Beemer’s dipstick after he checked the oil that morning, oil was everywhere.

Woodies was no help and so an alternative had to be found.

DD rode to Colo Heights (where we tried to help a bloke get his Triumph going) and left us to ride home with another group of riders who happened to be there.

After beers were drunk, we wandered over to the Family Hotel for a feed and then back to the Gearin and then I mostly forget …

Some older people went to bed and someone else went downstairs and drank some more .. I think

Mohawk had free music piped to his room until 2:30am. Did I mention it was loud AND free.

Woke up with a terrible headache, I knew that food at the Family Hotel was no good, couldn’t have been anything I drank.

Packed up, couldn’t find any staff members to return our keys or retrieve our deposit and so headed off to Blackheath for a hearty breakfast. I didn’t like heart all that much so had scrambled eggs.

Decided to break the mould and return via Sackville and Wisemans Ferry and after a little bit of an adventure on new and interesting roads, we did sorta find our way.

Finished the day with a break at Jerries before heading home.

Not one Mr Plod was sighted the whole weekend.

Amen

Wollombi Cafe

Well Lucky and Ant headed off to Wollombi yesterday despite the doomsday prophets who forecast rain. And it rained..a bit..on the way back. Nevertheless we set a good pace out and found ourselves bad mouthing all those who weren’t with us. Cops everywhere but not out past The Letter A. Ant missed a head on when some lunatic on a speed triple cut across into our lane on a blind left hander coming t’other way. He stood it up and went wallowing on his way looking for excuses I suppose. Anyhoo..no photos but you all have seen Wollombi. Rumour has it that Sideways Bob has come of age. Look forward to that news.

Image Ride Day

Went for a friendly with Image Motorcycles, another ZX14 turned up and William blasted around on the new Z1000.

Mitch had a problem with holding his fluids on the day and required some external assistance but was all good in the end.

A couple of scooters were starters but were early casualties of the merciless power and speed of the Ninjas.

There were, of course, no Hyabusas to drag us down 🙂

Broken Hilliday

Young Nige ready to head out.

With a range of only 200kms before ‘reserve’ the Virago needed plenty of stops for fuel.

Stopped for photos just outside Coombah Roadhouse on the way down to Wentworth.

The bikes parked at Perrys Sandhills.

Crossing the Hay Plains that (in my opinion) makes the Nullabor a doddle.

Did I mention it was cold …………

Very proud of Young Nige who did the 2700kms and some big days of riding on the little 250cc with no dramas.

‘Busa Boyz

Went for a ride with members of the Hyabusa Club and yes, I was the only Kawasaki rider but I did get to lead them all through Galston Gorge.
I still don’t like Hyabusa’s

We’ve Made It?

Does it get any better than this, Killswitch and Nige have finally made Jerries ‘Wall of Fame’?

Continued on for more happy snaps at Wollombi.

The KLunkeR has almost become my ride of choice.

Killswitch was just complaining about not being able to go to work that morning like everyone else.

Parking 101

Parking 101

I need to clarify that the owner of this bike was NOT me, my bike was already across 🙂

Mohawk’s KLunkeR with a few kilos of Watagans Forest soil for a souvenir.
