Zippy

Lucky, Zippy and Nige headed out to Bulga via Broke and Wallaby Scrub Road.

Got a bit damp over a coffee at Jerries on the way home but still a great ride.

Zippy’s ‘Blade.

Lucky the Seagull and Zippy with the chip that came between them.

Bylong

Five lucky Niges set out on a beautiful day for the hamlet of Bylong. Some things were fantastic, some things …. not quite so good.

Sideways looking very dangerous whilst the two in the background … well …

It was generally decided that Sideways had got the full value out of this tyre. It had looked like this for most of the way to Bylong and had spun at a reasonably quick rate to boot.

He decided to head home by the most direct route and to take it easy (this was Sideways remember, take it easy …yeh, right)

Lucky attempting to breed with the Ninja, we all know that he just wants one.

Were these happy faces an omen for what was soon to happen?

At the end of every scrape in the road there is always a story.

A sad sight down at the bottom of a very steep embankment wedged against a tree and the fence.

We had toΒ  drag it up the bank with the winch.

Up the top and I couldn’t hold it up any longer and down it went again.

Killswitch overshot the slightly off-camber corner and the CBF1000 turned into a off-roader.

Amazingly, John came out of it a bit battered and bruised after belting into a tree but still intact.

Riding with good quality safety gear is just a no-brainer.

Killswitch will live to ride again πŸ™‚

Wonder how the bike will fare?

Pothole Peril

Mohawk and Nige were riding their mighty KLunkeRs the other day when both bikes hit an enormous pothole in Gindurra Road in the shadows under the F3 overpass.

Even though it hit hard enough to rattle our ribs we didn’t stop to check the bikes out until we arrived at Pie in the Sky, after all, they are mighty KLunkeRs πŸ™‚

Amazingly, both bikes had suffered exactly the same damage to the front rim.

When we had finished lunch and coffee (someones gotta do it) we headed back to check out the pothole and to take a few photos.

Miraculously, in the time we had been away, the pothole had been repaired ……

The potholes have some road in them.

It was a biggun’

Gosford Council has been contacted and we are waiting for an official response.

Lightning Ridge

Holiday ride to Lightning Ridge.

Stopped somewhere, talking about something … you know me.

Briz brought his cousin Ian along on the FJR.

DD waiting for the pool to be cleaned. Briz and Ian had already had their soak.

The previously mentioned pool looking resplendent after cleaning. DD soon fixed that.

Some fascinating information.

Spent some time in Lightning Ridge having lunch and a coffee or two and was pleasantly surprised how civilised and reasonably large it was.

The pub in the background of this shot (where we stayed) was the same pub where Nige was taken by aliens on a previous visit. It ended badly for Nige and the aliens.

Nostalgic Nige

A few images from the old days of Nige MC – November 2007 at Jerry’s – where else? Back in the days when BMW’s ruled supreme! Putting these up ’cause I’m sick of looking at Droop’s bike!

Droop & Scrounger’s Willow Tree Ride

Visited the sister’s Farm-stay at Willow Tree as a ‘shakedown’ ride for both of our 77′ model bikes. Mine went well – a few electrical issues for Droop’s.

The Artist formerly known as CC turns 50

Brettski has survived long enough to turn 50 today and has recovered from having his leg cut off, so much so that with a bit (lots) of turps in him, he can even play tennis πŸ™‚

He now vows to give up the evil weed ……..

Back when he was just an innocent 47 yr old and he could still sorta ride a bike.

Ride Often: Ride Safe: Travel Far: Do It Soon:

Pilgrimage ride to Broken Hill for a family visit.

Bridge over the Darling River at Wilcannia.

The Ninja loaded up.

Plenty of rain out this way too – Stephens Creek very full.

Did I mention it was cold ….

Trip to the river at Menindee. All these blokes share the same surname.

Can’t beat a feed of yabbies.

Saw this KLunkeR with a tow bar on one of my many walks around Broken Hill.

It must be one of them there turbo charged KLR’s πŸ™‚

Gloucester and Beyond

Mohawk and Nige went for another ride on the mighty KLR650’s and yes, it rained again but at least it waited until we were nearly home.
