Lucky informs me that Friday is part of the Double Demerit Australia Day weekend. Slow ride or other options?
I’d still like to go for a ride but will probably take the klunker and do an easy pace. How about Bylong Valley Way to Oberon then on to Ilford and the back way into Bathurst. Should be few cops till outside Bathurst. Come home the same way. Left handers become right handers you know. Accomodation should be easier to find around there.
Lucky, do you mean Bylong to RYLESTONE and Ilford , Sofala , Bathurst? I have done this run and it is a good’n. Otherwise Ilford to Lithgow, Hampton, Oberon and Bathurst – just as good !

Oops…Yes sorry Keys I did mean Rylstone Ilford Sofala. Along Peel Rd into Bathurst. Not Oberon. Has anyone stayed in or around Bathurst and knows some accomodation? So far, with DD, we have 5.
I have stayed at the Park Hotel….. it wasn’t bad. Family Hotel comes recommended but there are other pubs on the Gday Pubs website. “Cheaper” motels are along the highway or in Stewart St ….. truck noise at night.
A lap of Mt Pan beckons but watch the speed limit.!

The Knickerbocker looks good, $85 for an ensuite room and a hot breakfast included and its in a pub where they sell BEER.
Right. I’ve booked 7 single rooms at the Knickerbocker at $85 per night which includes a cooked breakfast. All happy?
Good. So now everyone is happy this is the plan. We meet at Maccas Tuggerah at 8.30 for a 9 departure. Stop at Broke to meet with Scrounger’s mate and fuel up. It won’t rain.
