Nige AGM Heralds in a New Era

No not really. But five Niges did get to eat food and drink beer…again…and nobody was asked to leave. Mohawk arrived on time and was beautifully turned out in a lovely black and green ensemble that was elegant and tasteful and which really highlighted his natural tones. Andy Pandy looked a picture in smart casual topped off with a stunning coiffure boasting some lovely grey highlights whilst Lucky, ever aware of the importance of the occasion, arrived in a classic over-the-shoulder grey and red number with a wonderful and whimsical Moto GP cameo embroidered on the chest in a thematic display that captured the evenings celebrations perfectly. Black Santa, as always, was resplendent in sky blue cotton that few could pull off and yet it just worked and he drew many an admiring glance. Nige went for a classic blue jeans and cardy that screamed ” I wear what I want and I dare you to question me”. Nobody did.

A small section of a much larger group of Niges who were just out of the picture

The ever present threat of women accompanying their partners was quietly put to rest last night when Julianne and Carole made tentative approaches to joining the soiree but were quickly dealt with and should not be a problem in future. It was further agreed under paragraph 7 sub-section 6b that, ‘…in special circumstances wives and/or partners may be granted temporary admission to a club meeting if they are required to carry an ‘unwell’ member to their usual place of abode.” Most members agreed that this had some merit.

Nige raised the question of how much beer is enough and cautioned Lucky to lift his game as, in Nige’s opinion, Lucky was letting himself down personally by limiting his drinking to only how much he could actually store in his person at any given point in time. Lucky pointed out that his capacity to swell to the required expectations of Nige could be life threatening and also made him feel yukky.

Mohawk continues to develop his skills in betting and made some pretty impressive near-wins throughout the night. You have to admire the way his forefinger on the right hand instinctively moves over a touch screen to find so many horses that finish a race with such a stunning view of so many other horses arses.

After a few beers we adjourned to the restaurant. Lucky and Mohawk ordered the pork ribs which appeared to have been roasted under the primary engines of a Saturn 5 rocket. “Barely chewable” was Lucky’s only comment. Andy Pandy seemed to enjoy his schnitzel but I think he would have been just as happy eating jam out of a glass jar with a trowel. Nige’s approach to his meal was tradesman like but not overly impressive. DD, mindful of his boyish figure, had a light salmon salad. Kudos to you Dave.

Magnificent examples of manhood

Sexier members spotted in the crowd.

Why are all those other Niges standing over there just out of shot?

The night ended pleasantly enough. Lucky had organised transportation for Nige, Andy Pandy and himself. Dramatically though, Nige took a maverick exit and was last seen striding purposefully towards Earl Street. Perhaps he had one finger raised in silent salute, perhaps not. He remains an enigma.

Go West Young Man

Been there, done that …. Cobar again.

Take great care in Wilcannia …

Christmas decorations really brighten up the Wilcannia streetscape.

Immortalised in stone [paver 🙂 ] and the biggest meanest boys got this very manly colour.

Yes, this was as good as the Broken Hill Speedway got, it really was tragic.

There’s hope for Big Red yet, just hack the damaged bits off and chuck on a tray.

Theatre where no expense has been spared on the sign writing even if the concept is clever.

The Ninja at Umberumberka.

Mundi Mundi and the Ninja BUT no Mad Max 4.

Lucky Down

A beautiful day greeted the full complement of active Nige riders, Lucky, Sideways and Nige for a sedate ride to Bylong for lunch.

All started well with the techno twins hooking up their ghetto blasters to their new, you-beaut moulded ear speakers from the Bike Show.

Lucky took point and we were moving along at a nice pace when Lucky started singing along to Celine Dion and was distracted enough to miss the last corner heading to the bridge on the way to Broke.

Fortunately, Golden Boy fell fairly softly in the mud and Lucky bounced up like a squash ball, just checking out who had seen his embarrassing moment.

How easily it happens, water on the road and whoooshka.

A ‘Busa in the bush. Certainly not its best angle.

Like all good toys, stood it up and kicked it in the gutz and away it went. Nothing was actually broken but every panel down the right hand side was scratched or cracked.

Lucky checking to see if there was any chance of replaying that Celine Dion track.

The H2O factor and the bend now known as Lucky’s Corner. It seems we have named most of the corners on this road.

Got to Bylong and filled up but there were at least a thousand other people there and so we decided to head back to Denman for a beer and lunch at the pub.

One of the Harley dudes at Bylong asked if Lucky had been using the ‘Busa for motocrossing.

Pouring rain and blowing a gale at Broke whilst Lucky ‘broke’ the news to Missus Lucky about Mighty Boy hitting the deck.

Sideways had blasted by as we turned down Wallaby Scrub Road so hope he got home nice and dry.

Pissed down most of the way home through Cessnock, Freemans Waterhole and down the Freeway. Cars everywhere, there must have been a prang on the F3.

Nige Club Xmas Meeting (Cancelled)

CANCELLED

Scrounger has decided to call a gathering of all Niges in the new clubhouse (very close to where the old clubhouse stood) on Wednesday 7th December at 6pm.

The usual BBQ sausage sanger might be the go, bring a lemonade or two and maybe a nibble if so inclined.

Scrounger and Droop will share their Perth ride plans and maybe Scoot will reveal the details of his planned lap around Australia.

Watagan Creek Road

Went for a quiet KLunkeR ride out through the Watagans and down Watagan Creek Road to Laguna and then back to Jerries for lunch.

An object of desire.

A little nymph at the bottom of the garden.

The bridge is not looking in too flash a state.

Lots of water flowing ……. very pleasant.

Ussylians Ride Again.

Mohawk and Nige joined the Ulyssians for a lovely but sedate ride out to Denman for a sumptuous lunch. Mohawk was on his KLunkeR and Nige was on the Ninja. Guess which one was the more appropriate.
There were the usual events, someone fell off, someone got lost, someone blatted past the ride leader, someone broke down and …..
Planned to ride back via Wollombi but the road was cut through Paynes Crossing so had a more circuitous route through Cessnock to finally enjoy a lava java at Jerries.

Mohawk making some running repairs at Broke where it was morning tea time 🙂

The Prez and his mighty Gold Wing, both were destined to not make it home under their own steam.

Mohawk enjoying a lemonade with a few of the other young fellas.

This was the same pub where Scrounger was threatened with eviction for his potty mouth heh! heh! bet you can’t guess who it might really have been.

Sorry in advance for this report not being up to the incredibly high standard that has recently been set by our new club poet laureate, Lucky.

Expo 2011

I know of seven Niges who didn’t get a wink of sleep on Friday night because they were so excited about our adventure to Sydney the next day. By the time we met at maccas we were all throwing high fives willy nilly all over the store and had to be calmed down by Mohawk with a “Steady lads steady” and an orderly paired up hands held walk to the awesomeness that is his four wheel drive. With our little heads still spinning from the hazelnut lattes and such we took our allocated positions. You know, back in Roman times you could tell who was important by their positions in the local amphitheatre; Mohawks bus was like that: Local elite (Nige and Mohawk) up front, common citizenry (Sideways Bob, Andy Pandy, and Ant) in the next row and then waaaaaaay back behind them in the little dicky seats with their knees up under their chins all the way there and back was Black Santa and Lucky. This is where the women and slaves would have been seated back in the day. From the front they looked like two giant bugs splattered on the rear windscreen – it was very sad.

I feel quite regal up here.

Aww geez how come Nige gets front seats.

Quiet newbey or I'll put you up back with those bugs.

We found our way to the show and headed straight to the showbag pavillion. Some of us scored some pretty natty blue bags i might tell you. Bike after bike was examined and dismissed. Andy Pandy was very keen on some trailies and both Nige and Mohawk joined him for a scoot around the dirt sections. Ant kept gravitating towards the cruisers and fell hard for a big Trumpy and then a bigger Victory. Might have to keep a fatherly eye on him i think. Black Santa just disappeared for hours ( I think he was checking out whether those QBE girls were being naughty or nice.) Meanwhile Sideways Bob and Lucky just drank it all in. Nige kept thinking and pondering about his new ride and then Zippy turned up too. We all went to lunch and it was good. Real good.

Yeah great food and at a good price too!!

Why we're as cute as a duck in a hat.

Great choice of restaurant fellas.

Lucky looks like he rode down on top of the bus

Everything is better with beer

After lunch we all headed back to the show but pretty scared because our pass out stamps had faded and we were frightened they wouldn’t let us back in. We are a bit soft like that. Anyway we stormed the gates in an unlikely show of strength bullying our way past the elderly security guard and we again high fived ourselves all over the place for our bravery till Nige reminded us about our arthritis, emphasimas, siatic pains, etc and that we need to quieten down again. So off we went to look at that Super Tenere. Now Nige didn’t buy it but Jason the sales guy seemed pretty confident he could talk him round at some later point. Stay posted for that one. Black Santa still looking at the Beemers but I think he may have taken a sneaky test ride on the Busa while on his secret sabbatical from the tribe earlier in the day. Keep on eye on him too.

Ooohhh I just love this

Yeah I love these big red Suzukis

After a busy day we all went home. Ant fell asleep on the way back and some of the fellas may have taken some unfair advantages of him but that’s a story for another day.

A Little Place Called Wollombi

Saturday morning the sun was shining somewhere above the mist and a number of Niges set out for clear skies to the west. Usual meeting place where Nige, Benson, Keys, Sideways Bob, Black Santa, Lucky, and Mohawk shared some fond memories, hugs, and cuddles before heading off along that well worn trail to Wollombi. Nige said I, since it was my idea in the first place, should lead us out and then went immediately to his position out front. He set his usual blistering pace and we found ourselves at the pub about three minutes later. Dont know what happened to Mohawk he just kind of disappeared into the time space continueum that appears behind Niges Ninga from time to time. I hope he is well in whatever land or time he woke up in…..all the best old friend. Anyway those who remained made it to Wollombi and then back to a little known secret place called Jerries for lunch. By this stage Lucky was most unwell and didn’t eat or drink, just watched his good friends enjoy their meals then rode home and collapsed with the Ebola Virus or something like that and has only risen from his deathbed to post this um…..post.

Threatening aren't we.

Even scarier close up

Yeah we got nothin!!!

Geez Lucky are you ok? you seem to be putting off a real glow there.

Lucky and Andy get all dusty.

Sunday was a beautiful morning except for the drizzle. So nothing new there. Now Lucky felt the urge to head towards Wiseman’s Ferry and sent a very late message out to Nige to see if he and other Niges might like to take the dirt bikes out for a spin. Too late sadly so Andy and I set off out past Jerrie’s and onto the dirt road that winds its way south west to St Albans Common. By 9ish the skies had cleared and the dirt was dry so we could reach awesome speeds of nearly 70kph. Andy seemed to know what he was doing out front so I just tagged in behind him and neither of us fell off. Lots of kangaroos and photo opportunities all of which Andy happily ignored. Anyways we eventually found a nice spot next to a stream and stopped to dust ourselves off and congratulate ourselves on how great we are at everything we do. That might have been more me than Andy now I think about it. From here we headed on to Wisemans Ferry and up through Spencer and home again by about 1. I really like that KLunkeR and I think Andy would marry his Doctor 650 if it wasn’t against the laws of God, man, and decency.

Andy seems serene out here

Look at me ma..all upright and everything

Interesting pub but the owner wasn't real friendly.

Five to Dubbo – October 2017

Well Nige, Mohawk, Ant, Sideways Bob, and Lucky breezed into Dubbo Saturday afternoon to howls of disapproval from worried locals. However after some stern instructions from President Nige about following local customs and respecting the native wildlife all Niges except for Nige behaved beautifully. The Castlereagh Hotel provided good rooms and a hot breakfast for only $50 so that was good. I thought their roast dinners were a bit teensy weensy but Ant had the foresight to upsize his which brought some concern from the kitchen staff and a bit of a delay in the delivery. In fact Ant’s meal arrived about the same time ours was venting like the woodwind section of an Andre Rieu orchestra.
Anyhoo after a good night’s sleep by some we left early next morning for a quick ride round central NSW highlighted by a visit to the Parke’s radio telescope. Although we gave Nige a bit of grief about the visit we found it worthwhile and supports that whole thing about how boys like their toys.

Lucky (Toecutter) watching the Ninja disappear on the road to Yeoval.

Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth

Did you see me on my muscle bike Nige..did ya?

A handsome man spotted in Mudgee

One of about three hundred stops for wees and such

Two handsome men somewhere near Kulnura

A good ride home over dry roads and blue skies. Obligatory stop at Jerries and many warnings about Mr Plod hiding down the road in the school 40k zone. And he was too. That saved us a few hunj fo showa. Overall we all had a lot of fun and I’m not sure but but I wouldn’t be surprised if one Ninja rider may soon be spending some time in certain Suzuki shops negotiating a good price on the worlds greatest motorcycle. (Beginning with the letter H and ending in A with ayabus in the middle). End of unbiased report by Lucky.

A few extra photos from Nige

A pair of early morning happy campers.

A bit of an unruly crowd at Bylong

Bloody mobile phones in the middle of bloody nowhere.

Lucky and his mistress …. errr …. I mean iPhone

Out the back of the Castlereagh ready for a day 2 blat.

He’s such a happy chap. Drinking coffee at Molong after a long wait.
